Jean was born to Wayman and Novella Freeman on February 18, 1935 in Camp San Saba, Texas. She grew up in Brady, Texas along with her sisters, Joyce and Fae. In the summer of 1955 Jean met C. M. Brown, at a local drive-in restaurant where he sparked an immediate interest in her. She didn’t know it at the time, but the man she met that day would become her husband of over 63 years. After a 7 month courtship they married and moved to McGregor, Texas. Jean and C. M. had four children, Linda, Anita, Mike, and Charles. They lived the majority of their lives in Conroe, Texas having moved there in March, 1966.
Jean and C. M. were members of the Conroe Church of Christ and were heavily involved in various groups there. They enjoyed spending time with their many friends and loved ones from the church. Jean and C. M. loved to travel and were able to visit many beautiful places over the years. One of Jean’s favorite places to visit was the West Coast where her sister Fae lived. She loved sewing, cooking and caring for her family. Being a mother and grandmother was one of her greatest joys.
She is survived by her husband, C. M. Brown Jr., daughters Linda Connealy and Anita Brown. Her son Mike and daughter-in-law Holly Brown as well as her son Charles Brown. She is also survived in love by her sisters Joyce Kirby and Fae Fritzsche, as wll as her grandchildren; Chris Montgomery, Matthew Montgomery, Zach Brown, Sarah Jean Goodwin, Nick Brown, Laura Hawkins, Tanner Brown, Cory Brown, and Iva Brown. Great grandchildren; Alexis Montgomery, Shelbie Montgomery, Riley Montgomery, Oliver Strickland, Chloe Brown, Raylee Brown, Violet Hawkins, and Ela Holman.
