Jesse graduated from Dumas High School before joining the United States Army. He served two years in the states and one year in Vietnam during his enlistment. Jesse attended North Texas University after his honorable discharge from the Army. He was one semester short of graduating when he learned he was going to be a father. He was a hardworking father, retiring from Halliburton after many years of service. In his off time, he enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with broken items.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Betty Roberts. Jesse Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Melody Roberts, children Joseph and Mindy, six grandchildren, brothers Weldon and Terry Roberts and sister Nonie Edelman and numerous cousins.
Jesse Wayne was laid to rest on February 14, 2025, at Garden Park Cemetery.
