He worked for several years as a county surveyor for Montgomery County before establishing his own surveying business in Conroe, Texas. He continued in that profession until his retirement in the early 2000s. Jesse loved to travel and often took his wife and two children west for month-long camping trips, moving from place to place and enjoying the great outdoors. In later years, he shared that same sense of adventure with all of his grandchildren on a memorable trip to Colorado.
He was a stoic and wise man whose words were few but always thoughtful and intentional. He enjoyed being around others, whether playing pool or gathering for a game of cards—poker with the guys or Hand and Foot with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching boxing matches, and there was hardly a Western movie he had not seen.
Above all, Jesse’s greatest devotion was to his wife, Martha. They were married 63 years. Though she passed before him, his love for her remained unconditional and unwavering for the rest of his life.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife Martha Williams, his daughter Debra Williams, Mother Lurline Williams, Father Perry Williams, 5 brothers.
He is survived by his son Rodney Williams, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
A Committal Service will be held at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery, 1600 Porter Rd, Conroe, TX 77301, US, on October 26, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
