Jimmy Doyle Jones passed away peacefully on January 14, 2018 in New Waverly, Texas. He was born on July 4, 1942 in Gatesville, Texas to Lem Lou and Norma Maye Jones Jr. Jimmy was a retired senior captain in the Houston Fire Department and worked at Fire Alarm in Downtown Houston. He proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Ranger. Jimmy loved to hunt, fish, golf and barbecue. He loved searching for forgotten treasures with his metal detector. He loved having a good time with family and friends. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Lem Lou Jones Jr. and Norma Maye Dillard Jones. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lee Jones, son, Jeff Jones and wife Misty, daughter, Shelley Stokes and husband Warren, stepson, Scott McQuillen and wife Michelle, grandchildren, Bailee and Brooke Stokes, Savannah Jones, Blake, Brandon and Brooke McQuillan, great grandchildren, Kinley McQuillan, sister, Carol Martin and nephew, Michael Murphy and wife Rebecca. Numerous other relatives and a host of friends also survive. Visitation will be held Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home.
