Joe married Yvonne Willis and Andy Hale on August 14, 1971 at Sharp's Chapel at University of Tulsa but was our minister at congregation in Stillwater while we attended OSU.  He was also a darn good tennis player and taught me that you don't have to hit hard to win points.  He was such a wonderful friend but it was so easy to have lost contact through the years.  But we had a wonderful reunion at Conroe home after learning just before we left Houston in 2011 that he and Floye lived there thanks to Facebook.  Love Joe and have a ton of memories from our time at OSU with him and the whole congregation and Bible Chair group. 

We met Joe Goodspeed in the 60's  when he was at 6th and Izard Church of Christ in Little Rock, AR and he taught us and converted us both .  We will never forget his love and compassion that he had for us and his biblical knowledge. and his patience in teaching us. We tried and tried to stump him on biblical questions and never could.   He once came to teach us during an ice and snow storm and risked his life to be with us.  We have often thought of him during the years in the past.  He was a great Christian and example to us. Joe was our minister at the Pine Bluff, Arkansas church for a good number of years, He was a great guy and I loved his sense of humor. Very sharp wit and always ready to talk to anyone. He will be missed by all that knew him. Prayers for his family.

Can't remember when I first met Joe but it was at South Highland Church of Christ in Little Rock, Arkansas. He conducted both my grandparents funeral services. Always a pleasure to know him and blessed t have been taught by him.
He will be missed by many.

Joe was a delightful friend...witty, wonderful homespun humor, an irrepressible smile, all coupled with deep conviction and  wisdom.   We first met when we both were in Conroe Toastmasters about 30 years ago, and stayed in touch over the  years.  He loved the Lord, loved his church, and loved his family. He knew the scriptures and enjoyed sharing verses with  me. I never got tired of visiting him over lunch or whenever he dropped by my office.  He has been a blessing to me  and  countless others over the years.  He will be missed but those who know the Lord Jesus will rejoin him and Floye one  day.

Joe is an early memory of my life in Christ. He did things with gusto. If Joe called you his friend, he loved you. Many lives have been influenced for better because of him. Go with God, Joe. Your presence will be missed.

Miss you Joe, although we never met in person, we shared many bible post and scriptures on facebook, learning from each other and having a smile or two along the way. Penny Mae in Pa.

Joe was a great guy, always a joy to be around. He usually had a funny story of some sort which brought laughter to everyone. A devout Christian who loved his family and his God.

Joe and I were good partners in singing at Park Manor in Conroe. I was sorry to lose my good friend, even though I only knew him in my last visit to Park Manor. Please accept my condolences,

When I think of Joe Goodspeed, I immediately think of fun, humor, joy, delight, encouragement to the max, excitement for living, and one who makes each one of us feel like we are the most important person there is.  He radiated the love of Jesus in his own delightful, unique way, and we already miss his amazing style, but he will always remain in our hearts, until we meet again.  I bet he has already been assigned to the welcoming crew, for all of us who will join Jesus, with him, when our time comes.  Diane, thank you so much for sharing your daddy with me through the years.  I consider knowing Joe to be one of the greatest blessings ever.
