He was born in San Angelo, Texas on July 28, 1951 to Emmett and Clariece Psencik. John attended a rural public school in Eola, Texas. Upon graduation he farmed and worked at a pump supply. He later moved to Oklahoma and received a degree in Safety Engineering from Oklahoma State University. John was employed by Exxon Mobile for 22 years. His extensive work travels took him to several African countries as a Fire Safety Engineer for Exxon before retiring in 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Beth Ann) Psencik, his daughter from his first marriage to Penny Charrance, Amy Mars and her husband Eric and their children Kira Grace and John Maverick of Magnolia. He is also survived by an older brother Dwain Psencik and his wife Dawn of Eden, TX, his two younger sisters, Karan Cornett of Coahoma, TX, and Donna and her husband Mike of Carlsbad, TX, his mother-in-law Betty Birka of Texas City, as well as Beth Ann’s children Julia Copeland and her children Shekinah and Levi of Conroe, and Mary Delzer and her husband Karsten and their children Aria and Elise of Loganville, GA. and several nieces and nephews.
For the past year John and Beth Ann have attended Freedom Church. John was an avid reader and could entertain you with his gift to spin-a-yarn. He was a tender man with a heart of gold who loved Jesus with all his heart. John Lloyd was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and the best Papa to his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Delores Ann and brother-in-law Tim Cornett and son-in-law Kevin Copeland.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Monday, July 2, 2018 at Freedom Church 8103 FM 1488, Magnolia, Texas 77354.
