Johnny Patrick Gregory passed away peacefully on February 12, 2019 in Conroe, Texas at the age of 87. He was born on January 30, 1932 in New Waverly, Texas to John and Sadie Mae Gregory. As a boy he lived and worked on the family farm with his parents and two sisters, Gloria and Grace. Johnny graduated from New Waverly High School in 1950, where he was a star athlete. He played basketball, baseball and was an all-state athlete in track and field. Johnny joined the Army in 1950. After returning from the service, he returned home and married his sweetheart and wife Norma Dell Gregory from Conroe, Texas. Johnny and Norma had two children, John and Andrea. Johnny worked for Bama Jelly/ Borden for 32 years. After Bama he began ranching and farming full time until the day he passed away. He spent his days working his cattle and baling hay. When hay season was over he headed to the woods to go deer hunting. Johnny’s passion was his family, cattle, hay, hunting, and fishing, hanging out daily at Rancher’s Supply, and following the New Waverly Bulldogs, being one of the oldest loyal fans. He was a very loyal hard worker with no quit in him. Johnny wore his overalls and pulled himself up into his tractor daily to work his land and cattle until the day the good Lord called him home. Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Dell Gregory, daughter, Andrea Gregory felts, granddaughter, Sarah Felts, father, John Gregory, mother, Sadie Mae Felix Wright, sisters, Gloria Gregory Morrow and Grace Gregory Gardner. He is survived by his son, John Gregory and wife Diane Bowen, son-in-law, Richard Felts, grandchildren, Katy Gregory Owens and husband Clayten, Chase Gregory and wife Taylor, Cody Gregory and Brad Felts and soon to be great granddaughter, Kennedy Lynn Owens. Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Don Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Elmina Cemetery, New Waverly, TX.
