Josephine A. Van Patten, 92, of the Woodlands, died Saturday, March 15, 2014. She was born to the late John and Wanda Kut, January 31, 1922, in Harvey, Illinois. Josephine married the late Eric Van Patten in 1945, and they lived together in Tinley Park, Illinois, before relocating to Texas in 1988. Josephine was an avid golfer and raised Brittany Spaniel dogs with her husband for field trials and dog shows. She also was a loyal volunteer at the Montgomery County library near April Sound. She loved to travel, and visiting all seven continents in her lifetime. Josephine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Richard Sharman, of The Woodlands; her two granddaughters, Daria Sharman of San Antonio and Deedra Sharman of The Woodlands. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Powers of Joliet, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Houston Multiple Sclerosis Society. Funeral Service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with Father Joseph Manapuram. Burial will follow in the Garden Park Cemetery.
