Born on July 4, 1941, in Independent, Missouri to parents Bill and Virginia Ross. She grew up surrounded by love and laughter, forming deep bonds with her siblings that would last a lifetime. As a sister, she was a confidante, protector and a constant source of support.
Judy lived a life full of love, devotion, and grace. She met the love of her life James W. Sanders (who she called “Jimmy”), and they were married for 68 beautiful years. Together they shared a bond that was truly the epitome of love, partnership, and commitment. Their journey together was a testament to the strength of their relationship, filled with laughter, joy, and unwavering support for one another.
As a mother of four to Preston, Gina, Chester and Janie, Judy poured all her love into raising her children, instilling in them the values of compassion, resilience and family. Her nurturing spirit and wisdom guided them through life’s challenges, and her unwavering belief in them was a gift they will carry with them forever. She always put the needs of her family first.
In addition to being a loving mother, Judy was a proud grandmother, affectionately known as PimPim to PJ, Amber, Ashley, Aaron, Chester Jr., Melissa, Jake, B and Kelsey. She treasured her role as a grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great grandmother showering them with affection, care, and timeless stories. Her legacy will live on through them, as they continue to carry her light and love in all that they do.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Virgina Ross; siblings Janie Leland, James Ross, Dude Ashley, and Rodney Ashley; son Preston Sanders; grandsons Preston Sanders Jr. (PJ) and Aaron Mullins; great-grandchildren Brianna, John Trevor, Mackenzie, and Raven; and son-in-law Bob Read. She is survived by her husband, James W. Sanders, daughter Gina Mullins (Marvin), son Chester Sanders (Taigi), daughter Janie Read, daughter-in-law Rosetta Sanders, her grandchildren Amber, Ashley, Chester Jr., Melissa, Jake, B, Kelsey, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and brother Robert Dale Ashley.
A celebration of her life will be held on February 22, 2025 beginning at 2:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas with a graveside service to follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
Judy Evelyn Sanders will forever be remembered for her loving heart, her unwavering devotion to her family, and her joyful spirit. Rest in peace, dear Judy. You will be missed beyond measure.
