Julian Herminio Ramos, 77, was born on April 25, 1949, and passed away on September 21, 2026. Born in Blessing, Texas, he was one of 15 brothers and sisters and learned the value of hard work early in life, growing up in a farming family in Bay City and picking cotton as a child. From those beginnings, he carried forward a steady determination and a deep respect for honest labor that shaped the man he became.
Julian served his country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps for six years and was a Vietnam combat veteran. He later continued a life of service as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Victoria County from April 18, 1980, to February 25, 1983. He also built a strong working life in the trades—working as a welder for Skytop, an oil rig company, and later for Ball Metal Container as a millwright, where he eventually retired. In every role, he was known for the kind of work ethic that speaks quietly but leaves a lasting mark.
A devoted husband and father, Julian was married to Mary Ann Ramos for 55 years (56 on November 9). Together they raised two children, Marcus Ramos and JoAnn Christy, and he took great pride in his family, including his three granddaughters: Lauren Christy, Amber Christy, and Jessi Ramos.
In daily life, Julian was a man who stayed busy—always building, repairing, or improving something. He loved working with wood and metal, and welding held a special place in his hands and heart. If something broke, he was the one who would figure out how to fix it. He took pride in keeping the best yard in the neighborhood and in keeping the car—and especially his truck—spotless and clean. He also believed in staying strong in an old-school way, using cement weights and keeping up with curls, push-ups, and sit-ups, carrying forward the discipline he learned as a Marine. He valued taking care of oneself, staying groomed, staying strong, and never making excuses. He built a foundation for his family grounded in faith, love, hard work, humility, kindness, strength, and respect—one that will remain with them always.
Julian was preceded in death by his father, Jose Ramos Sr.; his mother, Juanita Flores; and his siblings: Sylvester Ramos, Mary Ramos, Blanca Lopez, Alfred Ramos, and Juan Ramos. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Ramos; his son, Marcus Ramos and wife Beatrice; his daughter, JoAnn Christy and husband Jeff; and his three granddaughters, Lauren Christy, Amber Christy, and Jessi Ramos.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, on October 10, 2026, from 10:00 am with inurnment in Garden Park Cemetery and a reception to follow.
