

She was graduated from Neville High School in 1962 and then earned a degree in Psychology from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1966. She then proceeded to Tulane University where she received a Masters degree in psychiatric social work.
Kay went on to set up a successful private practice in New Orleans for 40 years. She was very highly regarded by her peers and patients.
She is survived by her sister Diane Claypool, brother John E “Sanchez and his wife Nancy, sister Debra Smith and her husband, Michael . She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces and countless friends.
There will be a celebration of life held in New Orleans within the next few months.
