Mr. Kayode J. Odunlade was born on January 23, 1954, and spent his formative years in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, Nigeria, where he grew up on Patey Street, opposite Odeon Cinema. Those early years helped shape the values that defined his life—discipline, resilience, commitment, and quiet strength.
He began his education at Mayflower Junior School, where he studied from 1961 to 1966. He then proceeded to Mayflower Secondary School, attending from 1967 to 1971. His years at Mayflower laid a strong educational and moral foundation that remained with him throughout his life.
Upon completing his secondary education, Kayode joined the Ministry of Works, where he served diligently for four years, from 1971 to 1975. His dedication and strong work ethic were evident from the very beginning of his career.
In 1976, he embarked on a new chapter of his life by traveling to New York, United States of America, where he began building a future abroad. Over the years, his journey eventually led him to Conroe, Texas, which became his home.
Kayode's life was marked by steadfastness, dignity, and unwavering commitment to those around him. He carried himself with quiet strength and remained true to the principles he valued throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember him as a thoughtful and dependable man whose calm presence left a lasting impression.
He will be remembered with deep respect and enduring gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to his family and friends.
He is lovingly survived by his beloved mother, Mama Kojusola Awaye; his beloved wife, Mrs. Francesca Odunlade; his children, Lawrence Odunlade, Femi Odunlade, Seye Odunlade, Feyi Odunlade, and Dami Odunlade; his sisters, Mrs. Iyabo Falade, Mrs. Bola Adamolekun, and Mrs. Bukola Ogunnowo; his brothers, Otunba Olanrewaju Folarin and Mr. Fela Ogunde; his in-laws; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Though he has departed this earthly life, the values he lived by, the memories he created, and the lives he touched will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas, 77304 on August 15, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
