Kenneth began his party on earth on November 9th, 1978, in Conroe, Texas, and carried his party over to the streets of Gold on December 13th, 2023, in Brackettville, Texas, doing what he loved: being at his deer lease with one of his best friends by his side.
Kenneth was the youthful age of 45 when his party ended here in the physical world, but he lived those years to the fullest. Kenneth lived life too large and fast and was always “Full Throttle.” It was all or nothing with Kenneth.
He didn’t slow down too often; if Kenneth was not working, you could find him at his home away from home, the deer lease. One of his greatest pleasures was sitting down playing dominoes with his Dad. Kenneth was an avid hunter and loved being at his lease with his wife, family, and friends. He loved to fish, ride his beloved Harley, and shoot pool with his “brothers.”
Kenneth’s top priority was his family, and he was happiest when he had his wife, his Queen, Tina, by his side or on the back of his bike. Kenneth loved and adored Tina and he made sure the whole world knew it.
Kenneth loved his children and had his own unique and special relationship with each one of them. However, the grown kids very much know they come second to the grands and Kenneth’s greatest title yet was that of Pop-Pop.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his grandfather, B.J. Cummings; grandmother, Mae Zaetler; grandparents, Maxine and Harry Burleigh; mother-in-law, Gerri Gates; and brother-in-law, Ryan Gates.
Kenneth is survived by his parents, Butch and Lynne Cummings; his wife and queen, Krystina “Tina” Cummings; his brother, Jason Cummings; his brother-in-law, William Gates and his wife, Monica; Children, Lilly Cummings and fiancé Chris, Gracey Cummings and fiancé Garret, Selena, Timothy "Timmy," Brooke, and Morgan “Prissy”; His grandbabies, Jaxon, Freya, Cash, Jocelyn, and Cleo; Nieces, Loryn Gates, Ansley Gates and Lyla Cummings; Nephews, Jayson Cummings, Justin Gates, Jacob Cummings and wife Maghen, along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Kenneth was a son, husband, father, Pop-Pop, uncle, brother, and friend to many, and he never met a stranger. Kenneth worked in the oilfield for 27 years. He began his career in the oilfield, starting out as a “worm” and working his way up to become a directional driller. Many people sought out Kenneth because of his expertise in this field. He broke many records in the drilling world and was well respected and loved by his colleagues and peers. With Kenneth, it was always more torque and more weight. I guess now we can “just rotate." During his career in the oilfield, he was able to travel the world and his final journey was with what he called "family," and that was with Liberty Drilling. Kenneth was Field Supervisor with Liberty Drilling and many from the oilfield became a second family to Kenneth and Tina as well as their family.
Kenneth was larger than life and would truly take his shirt off his back right where he stood and give it to you. Kenneth wasn’t the life of the party. He was the party!!! And the party wasn’t over until Kenneth said it was over. Everything with Kenneth was a bet or a dare, especially at closing time. He did not take losing well and “Double to Nothing” was surely one of his favorite sayings, if you know you know.
Pallbearers, Kenneth's Posse, Jay Davis, Russell Schoonover, Louis “Chubs” Lamping, Josh McBride, Verrell Stine, Bryan McKinney, and Max Parra.
Honorary Pallbearers, Timmy Stowe and Jacob Cummings.
The world is a little less bright today without Kenneth in it. His favorite color is orange, his favorite suit is a pair of overalls, his favorite dress shirt is R-rated, and a cowboy hat is a given.
The family asks that you come in your most casual “Kenneth” attire. As we know, he surely would have.
Services for Kenneth Lee Cummings will be Friday, December 22nd, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Nursery Road, in Conroe, Texas 77303.
