Dr. Cecil was a beloved member of Montgomery United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the Choir and caring for the flowers and plants. She was also a member of the Montgomery Historical Society and opened her previous historical home, Melrose, for a number of years during the Christmas in Montgomery Tours. Dr. Cecil loved animals of all kinds, rescuing more dogs and cats in her lifetime than can be counted, as well as raising horses and Detxter cows. She also enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques and genealogy.
Dr. Cecil was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Henry (nee Hall) and her stepfather, John Henry. Her survivors include her son, Ben Cecil (Lori); her bonus daughter, Jaime Holbert; her three grandchildren; and her oldest and dearest friends, Clara and Tim Naccarato.
