Lloyd was born in 1947 in Houma Louisiana. In his own autobiography (yes he wrote one!), he described his upbringing in a small Cajun town as “very All American, very Norman Rockwell”. He loved life growing up on a farm with his three brothers. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Benedictine High School in Chauvin Louisiana and then Nicholls State University in Thibodeaux. After serving his country in the US Navy 1970 to 1974, he had short stints as a teacher and selling insurance before finding his calling in Oil and Gas. He served a variety of administrative and personnel roles through the years as he transitioned through companies due to the nature of acquisitions, mergers and divestitures famous in that industry. After several years living “down the bayou” his career took him to Texas where he settled in the Houston suburb of Montgomery to finish his professional life. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2015 and moved to Live Oak Senior Care in 2020 where they took amazing care of him until his passing.
Lloyd absolutely loved to travel, loved to live life, loved history, space, westerns, documentaries and loved all things LSU. Although his weekdays may have been filled with responsibilities in oil and gas, he could be found almost every weekend in his Houma years working in the cattle pasture with his brother Kenneth. They were very proud of their endeavors with their dad Gilmore “Choop” in the creation of Pellegrin Hereford Farms. Lloyd married the love of his life Barbara in August 1986 and considered (in addition to his sons Keith and Brian) taking care of her and his “princess” Lindsey some of the great blessings of his life. He was a wonderful son, brother, father and grandfather who will be missed by all. His legacy though will endure through the example he set of hard work, dedication to his family and respect for literally everyone around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gilmore “Choop” and Gloria, and his brother Kenneth. He is survived by brothers Gilmore Jr. “Butch” and Kirby, his wife Barbara, sons Keith and Brian, daughter Lindsey and grandsons Austin and Bryce.

Friends and family are welcomed to join the visitation from 9am until Catholic Mass starts at 11am. He will be interred in a Mausoleum at Sacred Heart immediately following Mass.
