Lucienne (Lou) was born on the Island of Malta to her parents, Anthony and Margareta Abdilla. In 1968, she met Emmanuel Mamo, the love of her life, and they were married six months later. Shortly thereafter, they decided to start their life together in the United States, settling in Michigan. There, she gave birth to their first two sons, Matthew and Mark. Five years later, the Mamo family moved to Spring, Texas, where Lou gave birth to her third son, Michael.
Lou was a devoted wife and mother who balanced caring for her family while running successful businesses with her husband. She loved family vacations, holiday dinners, and spending time with family and friends. Lou was an active parishioner at St. Edwards Catholic church for many decades.
Lou was a kind, beautiful, caring, and precious woman. Her selflessness grew during the last few months of her life and she focused on everyone else’s needs. She courageously fought her illness in hopes to celebrate her granddaughters, Melanie’s, wedding and great-granddaughter, Blakely's first birthday. God had a different plan. During her final day, Lou was surrounded by her family and she was surprised when her grandson Kyle and his family traveled a great distance with their nine month old to be by her side. She was overjoyed when she saw her great granddaughter, Blakely, and it gave her energy to play one final game of Uno with her grand kids, which she won, of course (wink, wink). A few hours later Lou spoke with her sons, thanked them and said “I had a great life” and “I am going to be with your father (Emmanuel)”; Then God called her home.
