She was on March 22, 1940 in Beloit, WI, the daughter of Therone “Bus” & Marie (Cormany) Vickerman. In 1958, Lynn graduated from Beloit Memorial High school where she was active in many organizations, serving as the Secretary to the student Council, Cheerleader for Football and Basketball and played lead in her senior play. Lynn was a guard and officer in the Rainbow Girls. After high school, Lynn enter into the Prospect Hall Secretarial School in Milwaukee, WI, then went on to work for Beloit Iron Works, Minnesota Life in Minneapolis and later a Legal Secretary back in Beloit, WI.
On November 30, 1968, Lynn married John Hoffland in Beloit, later relocating to Texas in 1981. She enjoyed traveling the country watching John compete in his trap shoots and also internationally with her mother in law. Her favorite stop was Salt Lake City to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir perform.
Lynn excelled at golf, getting a “Hole in Three” on the 13th Hole at Krueger Golf club in Beloit, WI! She later got involved with bowling in Beloit and Conroe, TX where she competed in the Women’s Bowling Tournament or 25 years and was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in Beloit. A loyal Volunteer, Lynn Served her community for over 50 years at both Beloit Memorial and Conroe Regional Hospitals. She was member of the United Methodist Church and loved her regular bridge game with Friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John and her son, Michael; 2 Nieces. Katie (Doug) Morem, Mary (John) Swenson and 2 Nephews, Matt (Tracy) Hardyman and Andrew Hardyman. Her parents and her sister, Jean Hardyman, preceded Lynn in death.
A Celebration of Life for Lynn A. Hoffland will be held Sat., Jan. 14, 2023 at 3:00 Pm in the Metcalf Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Charles Loving officiating.
