Mother, mentor, supporter, teacher, and friend to many, she has left us too soon. She met the love of her life, Max, at age 14 at Beaumont High School and married him at age 20. They were married for 64 years. She supported him through the Army, earning his degree at Lamar University and all the exploits of his career, including overseas travel, while also raising two daughters.
She was always very artistic and had a ceramics business for a while. After Max’s retirement, they moved to Conroe where she designed their new home. They became founding members of what is now called Jesus Church Global Methodist in Conroe, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max E. Sears, her parents Hayes J. and Florrie Bell, her sister Carol Jean Teeter and brother-in-law Tom and nephew Tommy and her son-in-law Tom Durham. She is survived by her daughter Terri Vander Pol, husband Dale and granddaughter Robin, daughter Diana Durham, grandson JT Durham and granddaughter Cathryn Martin and husband Stephen and great granddaughter Makayla and many of the Sears and Martin clan descendants that loved her as their own.
