Marcia came to the United States from Nicaragua with her husband, Gustavo, in 1959 in search of a better life for their family. She devoted nearly 40 years to working in the garment industry, where she was respected for her strong work ethic and became known for her wonderful sense of humor. Her coworkers affectionately nicknamed her "Marciana," a playful twist on her name that reflected the joy and laughter she brought to those around her.
Marcia was the devoted mother of Gustavo Aragon, William Aragon, Karla Halseth (Thor), and Norman Aragon (Debra). She was also a proud and loving grandmother and great-grandmother to Tahnee (Kevin), Toren (Amanda) Rebecca (Alex), Rhiannon, Ryan, Rachel, Nisa, Michael, Andrew, Ethan, Rykaia, Caydan, Aaliyah, Royle, Maximus, Sterling, Desiree, William Jr., Ahava, Amra, Cristain, Ella, Rahlynn, Emmett and Nolan. She shared an especially close bond with her beloved grandson, Matthew Scott Young, whose passing in 2014 left a place in her heart that was never filled.
Anyone who knew Marcia knew she was fiercely independent and always did things her own way. She was strong, determined, and resilient, a woman who faced life's challenges with courage and unwavering resolve.
She loved to dance, especially to salsa music, and she had a lifelong passion for fashion, with a particular love for beautiful shoes. She took pride in looking her best and enjoyed life's simple pleasures.
One of Marcia's proudest accomplishments was becoming a United States citizen in the 1990s after having been a permanent resident since 1959. It was a milestone she cherished and a testament to her perseverance and love for the country she came to call home.
Marcia was preceded in death by her beloved son, Gustavo Aragon, and her cherished grandson, Matthew Scott Young, both of whom she loved deeply and carried in her heart always.
Marcia will be remembered for her strength, independence, infectious sense of humor, and, above all, her deep love and devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she loved and the countless sacrifices she made for them.
Mami, te queremos mucho y nos vas a hacer mucha falta. Gracias por ser una madre tan hermosa y por todos los sacrificios que hiciste por nosotros. Descansa en paz y en los brazos de Dios. Siempre vivirás en nuestros corazones.
