Mary Brown, 76, of Conroe, Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2025. She was born August 16, 1948, to Marie and J.W. Golding. Mary was a 1966 graduate of Conroe High School and worked as a medical secretary at Montgomery County Hospital until her marriage to Sheldon Roy Brown in 1968. Mary and Roy started their family in Houston, welcoming Kim in 1971 and Andy in 1976. After their return to Conroe, Mary earned a medical assistant’s degree and was employed as a medical secretary at UTMB’s residency program and later Sadler Clinic where she worked for Drs. Wilkerson and Scarborough until her retirement in 2009.
Mary enjoyed sewing and other crafts. She loved to cook, especially baking desserts for Montgomery 25 Masonic Lodge. Mary was awarded The Golden Whisk Award for her faithfulness in creating these delicious desserts. She also provided dinners for the adults’ VBS classes at her church, Mount Calvery Baptist Church.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma, and great grandma. She will be remembered for her love and care for family and friends and for her unmistakable laugh.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Marie and J.W. Golding, husband Sheldon Roy Brown, daughter Kimberly Lue Brown, and parents-in-law Jesse Mae and M.H. Brown. She is also survived by her son Andy Brown (Becky), sister Linda Baldwin (James), her granddaughters Brandie Brown, Jessica Canales, Stephanie Baxley (Casey) and their children Josey and Andy, Crystal Silva (Aron) and their children Christian, Akaydence and Acesin, Vicki Hickman (DJ) and their children Madison, Mason, Maddex and Marshall. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.
A visitation for Mary will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 2:00pm in Cashner Colonial Hall. A graveside will occur Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 3:00PM in Pool Cemetery, 24143 FM 149, Richards, TX 77873.
