Mary was such a kind & gentle soul. She would always maintain a calmness, even though, she was on full speed juggling a million activities. Mary will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough, to know her, or just cross paths. Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear. Rest sweet Mary & watch over everyone, from above.

I realize that I didn’t know Mary personally, but I felt like she was a friend. I am very saddened to hear of her passing. She worked in the doctor’s office that I have had to visit many times over almost two decades. She always had a smile, always some friendly chit chat while she would take vitals, and was always caring. In the days before the patient portal, I could always call Mary and know that she would get back to me, often having already resolved the issue, and never made me feel like my needs were a burden. I looked forward to visiting with her for a few minutes during my appointments. She will be missed.

As the oldest of the Thomas/Smith children and being 5 years older than Mary, I got to see her grow into an outstanding young woman who was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed. We never lived very close to each other during our adult life and our visits with each other were usually during a family reunion but when we did get together it was as if no time had passed. Mary will be remembered as an awesome sister, a caring mother, and a very good cook. A fond memory I have is at a get together we had around 1985. Mary had cooked her usual awesome meal and as we sat outside to eat a trash truck arrived to pick up trash. Mary asked the men on the truck if they were hungry and to join us if they were. The men parked their truck and shared an awesome meal with us. This was Mary, my sister, and she will be missed.

Growing up with Taylor, Mamaw had such a huge piece of my heart. She was ALWAYS there when we needed her and even there when we didn’t! She had the biggest heart of gold and always had a smile on, no matter what, even after all the crazy attitude we gave her as kids 🤣 I’ll never forget how loving and caring she was and how she definitely treated me as family. She will be missed greatly. ♥️

Mary was a very special and patient woman with a heart of gold. I will aways remember her as the Queen of the Hospitality Committee at the church. No matter how many times I asked her to show me how to do something (mainly that crazy can opener), she never got irritated with me and always had a smile and her great laugh. May you now rest in peace, good and faithful servant!

Mary watched every one on my kids, at some point, in children’s church. Everyone loved her so dearly and knows that we will meet again in the presence of Jesus Christ. She loved her family, her church, and our Lord. She will be missed. May her memory stay in our hearts reminding us of faithful servant hood and hard, diligent work.

I'm Mandi's best friend from high school, so I met Mamaw at a very young age. She had always treated me as family when I was around. One thing about Mamaw that always amazed me is she would give even when she had nothing to give. Looking back now she was at two of my biggest events in my life which was great considering my grandma passed away sometime ago. Mamaw reminded me some what of my grandma. She holds a special place in me heart and always will.

What a big sister Mary Sloan was. She always thought about others before herself. She would actually give the shirt off her back to help. She loved her job ant doctors and others that she worked with. God has received another beautiful angel. Live and will miss her forever

Mary loved God, her kids, and her many, many friends. She would help anyone in need if it were in her power. We will miss Mary more than anyone will know.
