Matthew was born March 29, 1978, to William and Debra Alexander. He spent his young life in North Shore along with his siblings Ernie and Amy Jo, before moving and attending Willis High School.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Private first class. He was promoted to Specialist, where he served as a UH-60L crew chief at the United States Aviation Center in Savannah, GA. The U.S. Army recognized Matthew for his honorable service with numerous Army Achievement Medals, and The Army of Commendation Medal for his professionalism, technical ability, selfless service and dedication to duty and country.
After being honorably discharged in 2001, Matthew went on to work in the aviation field for many years. He then became a CNC machinist. Matthew loved his field of work and the challenges that it brought.
Matthew is survived by his parents, brother and sister, and children; Serenity Faith Alexander, Emily La’Verne Hope Alexander, Matthew Striker Alexander, and Waylon Earl Alexander.
His family has organized a memorial service to honor Matthew’s life, which will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Waverly, TX on June 24, 2022, at 11:00 am. A military service with a funeral honors ceremony will be held at a later time at The Houston National Cemetery.
