Matthew Eugene Norton peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 26, 2023. Matt was born in Conroe, TX, on October 25, 1966. He was raised in Conroe where he graduated from Conroe High and then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University. Matt was a son, a brother, a friend, an uncle, and a great uncle. He wore each one of these titles proudly. He was the co-owner of PGX Supply with his brother Stephen and he was an integral part of Conroe Door and Hardware with his sister, Ginna and brother-in-law Tommy.
Matt was preceded in death by his father, David Norton Sr. Matt is survived by his mother, Marcella Norton, his sister Ginna and Tommy Moore, brother Stephen Norton and Cassandra McBryde, brother David Norton Jr., niece Brittany and Justin Brasher, nephew Cody and Maggie Moore, niece Cali and Chad Hudson, niece Lauren and Braden Biggers, nephew Garet and Mallory Norton, nephew Connor McBryde, great nieces Turner, Gentry and Poppy, great nephews Griffin, Baker and Olin, all of his extended family, his beloved dog, Molly, and countless friends that he considered family as well.
Some of Matt’s fondest memories were from the time he spent hunting, fishing and having good conversations with family, friends and even strangers. If he didn’t know you, he would by the time you got finished talking to him. He was the very definition of positivity and a light in everyone’s life he was a part of.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Private family graveside services will conclude afterward at Garden Park Cemetery.
One of Matt’s final requests was to be buried with one of his trusty baseball caps. His family would like to encourage everyone to come dressed casual, wearing their favorite cap or hat.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that you make a donation to The American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
