Matt was an adventurer at heart. He sought out life’s greatest thrills through skydiving, paragliding, scuba diving, and base jumping—always chasing the next rush. He was also a licensed pilot who found freedom in the skies. An avid runner, Matt participated in numerous marathons and proudly completed the grueling Raccoon 100 trail race, a testament to his perseverance and love for pushing limits.
A 1999 graduate of Clear Lake High School, Matt worked alongside his father, Glenn, in their family machine shop for over 18 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, quick wit, and contagious laughter.
Matt is survived by his loving wife, Amber Thorpe, and his cherished stepson, Kai Adams. He is also survived by his father, Glenn Thorpe, and stepmother, Karen Thorpe; his mother, Marie Anders; his sister, Sarah Corsen, and her husband, Terrence; and his nieces and nephew, Paige, Ellie, and Glenn. He will also be dearly missed by his in-laws, Anita and Tom Lewis.
Matt lived with passion and purpose, inspiring those around him to embrace life’s adventures. His spirit, courage, and humor will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
