(I.C. – Shane) Cooper, Sr. and Routine Wynn Cooper. She was the 5th of 12 children born
into their union. They name her Mattie Jewel Cooper.
Mattie always possessed her own unique sense of humor and held strong to her own unique convictions. Being born and reared in a God-fearing family - her father and patriarch, Rev. I.C. Cooper, Sr. – her mother and matriarch Routine Cooper, Mattie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. Throughout her life, Mattie always faithfully participated and supported her church home.
After completing her education in Huntsville, Texas, Mattie moved to Houston, Texas, in 1948, where she attended and completed business college. A few years later in 1953, Mattie relocated to Chicago, Illinois, and began her work in social services.
In 1957, Mattie met her soul mate, Harrison Frazier, Jr. In 1958, Mattie and Frazier joined in holy matrimony and the Lord mold them into one flesh. Mattie soon learned the life of an Air Force - military wife. She attended barber school and traveled often.
In 1965, Mattie and Frazier built a home, settled in California and lived there for 30 years. In their later years, they built another home and settled in Dodge Texas. A few years later, Mattie and Harrison decided to downsize, built another home and moved to Conroe where they became faithful members of Conroe First Assembly of God. Mattie was a faithful and supportive member until going home to be with the Lord.
Mattie lived a productive, successful, long-life with a swift transition home to the Lord. Mattie is preceded in her passing by her husband Harrison Frazier, Jr., her parents I.C. Sr., and Routine Cooper, her siblings, Lawrence a/ka/ Jack Cooper Sr., Ada B. Walker, James Cooper, J.C. Cooper, Bobby Cooper, Verna Claiborne. Mattie leaves to cherish the many memories: her sisters, Roberta Downey, Margie Reed (John), Lee Joyce Moffett, - her brothers, I.C. Jr., aka Joe Cooper and Rev. C.L. Cooper. Also, cherishing her many many memories are a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
