Melba Lee Allums, 93 passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born on December 13, 1930 in Marshall, Texas to parents Gus and Lillie Smith.

Melba enjoyed attending Northside Baptist Church in Conroe and participating in the Bible classes when she could. As the wife of a preacher, she loved to play the piano and sing in the choir. At home, she could be found on her front porch tending to her flowers.

Melba was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Mervil Sistrunk, Sr., sons Ray Sistrunk, Jr. and Ervin Eugene Sistrunk, her parents, sister Margie LeGrand and brother Frank Smith. She is survived by her children Walter Lee Sistrunk and wife Vanessa Ann, Janet Fulcher and husband Kenneth Ray, nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Ann Sistrunk.

A visitation for Melba will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303. A funeral service will occur Monday, April 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home with graveside services to follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
