Michael William Busby Sr, 82, of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Saturday, June 14, 2025 with his loving wife by his side at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Woodlands, Texas.
Mike was born in Jackson, Mississippi on November 16th, 1942 and enjoyed his youth in a loving and giving home as an adopted child along with his also adopted sister Virginia and brother Robert (Bob).
Growing up, Mike's life in Hatteisburg, Mississippi was filled with community, activities, and hobbies that allowed him to grow and thrive. He enjoyed among other things fishing, golfing, hunting, and playing music. He became the Captain of his college golf team where he won many championship trophies, and two hole-in-ones. He was the leader of three college dance & rock and roll bands. He played guitar and sang popular tunes from the late 50s - early 60s variety. "Johnny B Goode" is a classic example.
Mike obtained a (B/S) degree from University of Southern Miss, and an (M.A) from Southern Methodist University. He was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at USM.
Mike started his career as a computer technologist and programmer at NASA Space Center, and transitioned to the life of technology salesmanship. He was proud of his various professional achievements and related awards presented to him at IBM, DataGraphix, and Siemens.
Fishing happened to be his favorite pass time activity, as many who knew him will attest. He knew which lure, bait, and technique to use at each pond, lake, or ocean that he fished. One proud trophy of his, in addition to his many bass displays is a beautiful 11 foot sailfish that he had taxidermied and hung on the wall of his house. Mike was also a proud member of the Stonebriar Country Club where he loved to organize golf tournaments in Frisco, TX.
Mike moved from Frisco, Texas to Spring, Texas where he met his wife Lyndel Daigle whom he is survived by, and by his children from a previous marriage, Michael William Busby Jr.; Karen Elizabeth Bowers. He is also survived by grandchildren Austin Alvarez, Sophie Lie Busby, Evie Lie Busby and two nephews, Jason Waldvogel, and Todd Waldvogel.
Mike had a true passion for his friends and family, where his love for other people will likely be how he is remembered. He had an infectious personality, sense of humor and was loved by many. He was considered a handsome, sharp dressed man.
