He was born on September 1, 1948 in London-Hatfield to the late Fredrick and Cynthia Cahill. The family later moved to Southport where he spent most of his childhood. Michael entered the military in 1966 where he soon became Staff Sergeant of the 1st Royal Tank Regimen. Shortly after enlisting, he married Christa Cahill on January 15, 1969. He retired from the military on January 27, 1990.
Michael was both a family and dedicated military man. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and telling jokes. He also worked for both KBR and Fluor Transportation located in Afghanistan.
Michael is survived by his wife of 45 years Christa Cahill; Siblings Terry, Gerard and Frederica Cahill; Children Peter Cahill, Martin Cahill, Michael Cahill, Jennifer McElroy, and Michaela Cahill. He is also survived by grandkids Kyle, Samantha, Lordes, Darren, Eileen, Alica, Clara, Stefani, Kenny, Peggy, Peter Jr., and Clarence.
