Michael Raymond “Poppy” “Uncle Mike” Cirigliano, 78, was born in 1948, in Somerville, NJ, and passed away on August 8, 2026. He grew up in Somerset County, NJ, the son of Joseph Cirigliano and Rose Villano, and was the eldest of three brothers, Thomas and Joseph.
He found an early joy in music, lending his talents to the high school marching band and jazz band on clarinet and saxophone.
In 1977, Michael moved to Houston where he built a long and respected career, retiring from JP Morgan Chase after 30 years of service.
Michael was devoted to his family above all. He was married to his wife, Janet, for 54 years, and they shared almost 60 years together.
A compassionate and kind-hearted presence, Michael gave generously of himself through his church and community. He sang in the church choir, played handbells, taught vacation bible school for over 20 years, taught Sunday school for many years, and volunteered at a community food pantry.
He found pleasure in crocheting blankets for friends and family and reading science fiction and fantasy novels.
Michael is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Cirigliano and grandson, Joshua Jamison.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Cirigliano; children, Aimee Jamison and her husband Hugh, Cody Cirigliano, and Charles Cirigliano and his wife Emily Leifer; grandchildren, Zachary Jamison and Alyssa Jamison; and brother, Thomas Cirigliano.
Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, on August 14, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
