Michael Wayne Market of Spring, Texas, born August 3, 1948 in Evansville, Indiana and passed on July 19, 2019 in Conroe, Texas.

Michael was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.

After a long battle with cancer, he passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loved ones, just short of his 71st birthday. He has been reunited with his beloved parents Anthony and Jeanette Market, his mother and father-in-law, and a grandbaby.

Those remaining, who await a reunion with Michael, are his wife of almost 50 years, Cathy Market, his daughters Alicia Roberts and Jennifer Market, his grandsons Austin, Daylen, and Landon Roberts, his brothers Anthony, Larry, and Kevin Market, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be remembered for his generosity, his love of dogs, watching John Wayne movies, a passion for the Astros, a penchant for telling tall-tales, a hearty appetite, and his unusually long short-cuts.

Funeral services are set for Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cashner’s Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. Burial to follow at the adjoining Garden Park Cemetery. Mike & I worked together for around 15 years. We were compliant "battlers" when interfacing with the IRS. We found that every month has a 15th in it and something is due. Mike went through hell and back in fighting his illnesses, but he was always dependable and forthright in meeting our deadlines. He was one heck of a warrior and clearly the smartest guy in the room.

Jennifer and Alicia I am so sorry to hear that your Dad lost his brave and courageous battle with cancer. A father is a very special family member to have to say good bye to. Although I have never personally met your Dad he sounds like he was a very kind and loving person. May your faith being you hope of some day reuniting with your dad. My sincere sympathy to you and your mom

I offer my deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. Mike was a beloved friend and trusted advisor to me for about forty years and we had been through much together over the decades. I wish I could attend the services, but for health reasons I am unable to do so, but I will continue to have him and his family in my thoughts and prayers .

Mike and I have been working together for almost forty years. I loved him as a brother. He will be missed greatly and I know he is looking down at us from heaven. . Mike was the most generous person I have ever known. He would give you the shirt off his back if anyone asked. My prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends. Love and miss you Mike.

Mike will be sorely missed. His love for life and positive outlook never ceased and you could not help but feel good when he was around. I feel fortunate that I got to know him more as a friend than a work colleague. I will remember fondly his love for Civil War, WWII, WWI, or anything else to do with those parts of history. And I cant forget his ASTROS! My thoughts are with his family at this time and I pray that God gives them comfort and healing.
