Myra Zuleika Elam Crim, age 93, passed away June 25, 2015, at her home in Conroe, Texas. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Funeral Home, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, with Reverend Merle Blado officiating. Family visitation will be immediately preceding the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Forest Grove Christian Church Cemetery, 8902 South US Highway 77, Rockdale, Texas.
Myra was born on November 19, 1921, in West Columbia, Texas, to Thomas Jefferson and Rebecca Finch Gary Elam. She and her twin brother were the youngest of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death. She graduated from Prairie Lea High School and married John William (Bill) Crim on May 26, 1940.
Myra loved her church family very much and always made them a priority in her life. She served in the Baptist Church in every place she lived and focused her family life around that service.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Crim in 1968, and a grandson Drew Michaelson, her parents, and her siblings Marcos Morris Elam, Irma Jewell Elam Ross, Armor Buel Elam, John Uel Elam, Laura Fay Elam Gee, Arthur Frank Elam, Joey Mae Elam Smith and George Henry Elam.
She is survived by her daughter Melanie Ezell, son Russell Crim and wife Denise, and son Mike Crim and wife Linda; grandchildren Tripp Michaelson, Lindsey Michaelson, Blair Laborde and husband Cregan, Kelly Trauschke and husband Justin, Billy Crim, Michelle Castellanos, Michael Crim and wife Courtney, and Valerie Goodwin and husband Chris; great grandchildren Monroe Laborde, Kate Laborde, Delaney Trauschke, Nick Frede, Jake Frede, Sadie Castellanos, Gunner Castellanos, Harris Crim, Ryan Crim, April Turner and her husband Ryan, and Brannon Goodwin; and the person she called her daughter by love, Susan Crim. The family is especially appreciative to Sharon Scott for her loving care of Myra.
