Norman Raymond Glass, 84, passed away from lung cancer November 22, 2015. He was born in Iola, Texas January 26, 1931. After early work in dairy farming, Norman was a professional truck driver most of his working life. He is credited with over 2 million safe driving miles and has been awarded almost every safety award that industry offers. After retirement he spent many happy years working various projects in his welding shop. Always good with his hands, he could repair most anything, and even applied for a U.S. Patent for a non-spill paint can lid. He was active until August of this year when his health rapidly declined. Norman is preceded in death by his wife Louise Glass, parents Lee Glass and Carmel Glass Key. He is survived by his sons Norman D. Glass of Dallas, TX, Travis Glass of Austin, TX, and Daniel Glass of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.; grandchildren Noah and Rosa Glass of Durham, NC; sisters Frankie Mock of Longview, TX and Wilma White of Bay City, TX. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends are also left to treasure his memory. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm Friday the 27th at Metcalf Funeral Directors with the Funeral Services at 2:30pm Saturday the 28th at Metcalf with burial to follow at Conroe Memorial Park.
