Pat’s formative years were spent in Philly surrounded by a large network of aunts, uncles and cousins. As Patti approached her high school years, the family moved to Miami, Florida, where Pat attended Miami Senior High School. She was always smart, clever, and determined… qualities that carried her throughout her life. Pat worked for several corporations over the course of her career, steadily rising into executive positions through her talent and dedication.
While living in Miami, she met the love of her life, her husband, Ed Ott. Together, Pat and Ed moved to Los Angeles, where she continued her career with a major real estate firm. From there, they made the bold and joyful decision to move to the Florida Keys and start their own business. Through hard work, long hours, and shared commitment, they built a successful printing company in Marathon, FL. They owned two sailboats and lived right on the water, embracing a life filled with both adventure and purpose.
After many years, Pat and Ed chose to retire from their print business and moved to Houston, Texas, to enjoy their retirement together. After Ed’s passing, Pat remained in Houston, where she built a warm and meaningful life. Being smaller in stature, it was always a little humorous to see Pat behind the steering wheel of her cars with her head barely peeking over the top of the wheel always wearing a favorite hat. She loved to read, collect rocks, crystals, sew and, in general, be creative. She was an active member of several sewing guilds in the Houston area. She and Ed enjoyed being in craft shows together as he crafted the wood products and she painted them. Pat was a devoted sister and caregiver to her brother Jim who lived with her for several years before his passing. She also derived enormous pleasure from her two puppies, Hanna and Pete, and was dedicated to their care.
While in Houston, Pat made several amazing and loyal and faithful friends who helped her live her life to the fullest. Her neighbor Renate visited each morning providing daily care and companionship and enjoyable chats. Her neighbors Larry and Dyanne provided Pat with physical, medical and spiritual support. Their support, kindness and presence meant so much to her.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ed, her brother James, her sister Elizabeth, and her parents, James and Elizabeth Hanna. She is survived by her brother William (Florencia); nephews; William (Janice), Christopher (Coleen), Michael (Kaina), and Justin; and her niece Cathy (Danny). She is also fondly remembered by her late husband’s family, whom she held especially dear. Her family will forever cherish her memory and the love she shared so generously.
