Philip was the definition of a Texas oil man. His family finally relocated to Texas after living in multiple states as a child due to his father’s career in the oil industry. Philip started working at Jet Oil Producers as a young man after serving time in the United States Army. He loved to make oil, from drilling it to producing it and eventually selling it. His family still owns and operates Jet Oil Producers Inc. to this day.
He enjoyed traveling to Steamboat Springs. In his younger years, you would find him skiing or snowmobiling. As of recently, he loved to watch the wild animals of the area, and he enjoyed watching it snow. He was an avid crossword and sudoku player who always said yes to a good bowl of Butter Pecan Bluebell ice cream.
Philip was a tolerant and humble man. He was friendly to everyone he met and was always a loving, caring, and kind gentleman.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Stella Stalder, children David Shawn Stalder, Jennifer Stalder Harper and husband Jeffrey, and Christopher Stalder, grandchildren Grace Harper, Philip Harper, and Emma Stalder. He is preceded in death by his parents and honorary son Oliver McDougal.
