After his father returned from the war they moved to Corpus Christie where the neighborhood consisted of 9 boys and 1 girl. This is where he spent the remainder of his childhood. Bob had many jobs at a young age including newspaper deliveries at 5am by bicycle, hardware store clerk, and soda jerk.
He married his high school sweetheart and moved to Lake Jackson to work for Dow Chemical. They had two beautiful girls, Susan and Cheryl, who were his pride and joy. The marriage later dissolved and in 1969 and he went on to marry Carolyn Earl. They met at the airport where Bob worked for Braniff airlines and Carolyn with Delta. Together they went on to work or the United States Postal Service. Bob worked there for 20 years. They have one child, Christopher Russell. This little family has continued to grow to include grandchildren Zachary Baldwin, Derek Baldwin, Brandon Dowden, Bryan Bissell, Jennifer Roshetzky, Lindsay Roshetzky, Jason Roshetzky Chad Bast and numerous great grandchildren.
After retirement, Bob loved the outdoors and anything in sports. Fishing was his favorite but flying radio controlled airplanes, hunting and motorcycle trips with the guys were close behind. Retirement was filled with RV trips, cruising, and travel. He will love the freedom of Heaven.
A celebration of life for Phillip will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas.
