Born on October 18, 1942 in Tallassee, Alabama to parents James Clayton Cason and Mildred Tant.
Robbie was a long-time resident of Houston, Texas and retired to Montgomery, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and vibrant spirit touched everyone she met.
Robbie worked as a customer service representative for Southwestern Bell/ AT&T where she was known for her professionalism, compassion, and dedication. Beyond her career, she was deeply involved in her community — serving on the PTA, becoming a Life Time Member of the Texas Parent Association, and serving on the Board of Directors for North Houston Little League. She was also proud to be part of the CWA Local Union 6222.
Robbie was the heart of her family and community. She was fondly remembered as the “snow cone mom,” always showing up with a smile and a sweet treat. She had a passion for baking elaborate birthday and wedding cakes, loved reading books, and collected music boxes that now serve as precious mementos of her love. One of her greatest joys was “going boogie-in” with her grandchildren — a memory cherished by all who shared those moments with her. She was always willing to help others and inviting toward outsiders to her home/family.
She is survived by her four children: Sandra (Les) O’Brien, Cindy (John) Adams, Joe (Kristi) Wheeler, and Ray (Courtney) Wheeler; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.
Robbie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Bob Wheeler; her parents, Floyd and Mildred Lewis; her sisters, Beulah Fay Bennett and Becky Wright and great granddaughter Rayna Grace Jones.
A celebration of Robbie’s life will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. The family will receive visitors for a viewing beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will take place at Brookside Cemetery in northeast Houston, off Highway 59.
Robbie will be remembered for her big heart, tireless devotion to family and community, and the joy she brought into every room. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
