

Robbye Marie Malone left this earthly home on Aug. 2, 2011. She was 81 years old. She lived a good life of good deeds to others and a valued relation with her Lord. She was born in Palmersville, Tennessee where she attended high school and excelled playing basket ball. She was married on June 16, 1951 to William H. Malone for sixty years. She and her husband were alumni of the University of Tennessee. They had two children, Laura Black of Montgomery, TX and Robin Malone of Valparaiso, In. She is survived by her husband, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The Malone's lived in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Gadsden, Alabama, Northfield, Ohio and for the last ten years on Lake Conroe in Montgomery, TX. Robbye began a long career of teaching as an elementary school teacher in Ohio. While teaching in Ohio she acquired buckeyes trees, the official Ohio tree, for each of her students for over 30 years. The number of buckeye trees in the area around Northfield multiplied. She was known as the buckeye lady by some.
She and her husband traveled extensively during their marriage having traveled to all 50 states as well as over 50 countries. They were able to visit the Holy Land twice.
She was very active in her church having taught children's classes sometimes on Sunday morning as well as Wednesday night. She was a member of the Woodland Oaks Church of Christ.
She was blessed with many talents, the most prominent being her sewing. She made baby clothes, children's clothes and even dolls clothes. She knitted, made quilts and always had some sewing project on going.
Visiting hours at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2011. The funeral will be at the same place on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 3:00 PM.
Robbye was one of a kind. She lived her life well and was a faithful Christian all of her life. She was an example to many and we will miss her dearly.
