We fondly remember Robert “Robby” Eugene Baer, who at the age of 51, was lovingly welcomed into the Lord’s embrace on April 1, 2024, in the comfort of his home in Conroe, TX, surrounded by his devoted family. Born to Robert “Bob” Goldwin and Carole Langdon Baer. Robby’s life was a testament to his unwavering faith and the love he shared with his family, friends, and community.
Robby leaves behind his adoring wife of 24 years, Ann, his treasured daughter Grayson, his beloved son Henry, and his dear sister Shari from North Carolina. His memory will also be cherished by a close-knit circle of in-laws and friends who were like family to him.
A native of Houston, Texas, born on September 28, 1972, Robby’s early years were filled with adventures on two wheels, exploring the northern reaches of Houston. Robby was intrigued by all things mechanical and electrical. Robby loved surrounding himself with friends who shared his interests. His passion for mechanics and innovation led him to a yard brimming with vehicles, each modified in unique ways. One of his vehicles was a show quality mini-truck showcased on the cover of mini-trucking magazine. Robby’s hands-on expertise extended to a myriad of tasks, earning him the affectionate title of “jack of all trades” from his wife, though he humbly downplayed his mastery.
Robby’s journey with Ann began in Conroe in late 1998, culminating in their marriage in 1999. His pursuit of education led him to Sam Houston State University, where he graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s in construction management with a minor in Business administration. His education eventually led him to Bauer Manufacturing in August 2009, where he remained until his health necessitated a step back in late 2021.
The joyous arrival of his daughter brought him to faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Not that her birth saved him, but the gospel did and her birth was the occasion God used to break him. He embraced his myriad skills, always ready to serve others, whether it was assisting stranded motorists, fixing cars, aiding in moves, or lending his technical expertise. His service extended to his church, where he contributed his talents to the sound team and other tasks. Robby’s heart for evangelism shone through as he shared the gospel with others, even during his travels.
Robby’s laughter, bright blue eyes, and warm smile were a beacon of joy. He shared his love for fishing and flying with his daughter, and though his son was too young to join, the bond they shared was evident. An enthusiast of Snow & water skiing, camping, hiking, motorcycling, kayaking, flying both real and radio control airplanes, and cycling, Robby’s adventurous spirit was undimmed, even participating in the MS 150 in 1999. His musical talent was another source of delight, as he played the piano by ear, and his love for 80s music remained a comfort even in his final days.
Robby was a kind spirit, his friends would say they never saw him angry, even when life challenges existed. He was loyal, honest, fair, hard-working and would give the shirt off his back, even if he only had one.
As we mourn the loss of Robby, we also celebrate his reunion with the Lord, whole and at peace. A memorial service will be held at Lakeside Bible Church, 18940 Freeport Drive, Montgomery, TX 77356, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2 pm.
In honor of Robby’s legacy, the family suggests contributions to the Trellis (building) project or missions (Fiji or Uganda) through Lakeside Bible Church in lieu of flowers. Robby’s life was a beautiful melody of service, faith, and love, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
