Bobby met Judy Richter in Huntsville, and they married on November 24, 1973, and were married 47 years. They built a home in Conroe and raised their two children whom he adored, Carole and William, there. Bobby was an excellent mechanic and was often called upon for help from numerous friends and family for his expertise on cars. His favorite project was working on a 1965 Mustang coupe with his son William. He loved working with his hands and spending time outdoors. Improving things around their home and horse barn was one of his favorite pastimes. Bobby was a humble man, ready to do whatever needed to be done; yet, he always took pride in his work.
As a Montgomery County 4-H adult leader, Bobby coached several Horse Judging Teams that won at the State level and advanced to national competitions. He was an avid “horse show Dad,” giving Carole and her friends encouragement and support. He was the ultimate coach and competitor and had a special eye for horses and understanding their abilities.
Bobby loved his family, and through the years, they were the center of his life. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he was always present for their events and special moments. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that he loved his family.
He had a servant heart, was very generous to those in need, and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a man of little words, yet full of wisdom and sound advice.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Thelma Bowling. He is survived by one brother, Bill Bowling, and by his wife, Judy Richter Bowling; his daughter, Carole and her husband, Jarrod Usener; his son, William and his wife, Ashley Bowen Bowling. Bobby also has four grandchildren: Andon and Audie Usener and Ollin and Anli Bowling.
The past few years have been challenging, and Bobby was a true fighter throughout his entire illness. His wife Judy was devoted to his daily care which became extremely difficult. She never wavered from all of the obstacles that Bobby faced. We would like to thank Ms. Helen Tucker for her caregiving and daily support of both Bobby and Judy. She was a true angel during this difficult time.
A celebration of life, in remembrance of Bobby, will be held Friday, August 13, 2021, 2 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. The family asks that monetary donations in honor of Bobby be made to Transformation Church Montgomery.
