Robert “Bob” Stone was born in Gurdon, Arkansas, to Harry & Phyllis Stone. Bob grew up in Whitehall Illinois, graduating from Whitehall Highschool in 1955. Following graduation, he joined the Navy. In 1960 following his discharge, he met and married the love of his life, Carolyn, and shared sixty-three years of wonderful experiences together.
Bob was a devoted husband and father who cherished spending time with family and friends. While Bob took great pride in his primary profession of building and operating refineries, it was his post-retirement work of gunsmithing that brought him the most joy and recognition.
Bob possessed a sharp mind and engaging personality that drew a wide association of friends and acquaintances to him.
Bob will be deeply missed by his son David, daughter-in-law Sharon, grandsons Christopher and Trevor, and sister-in-law Dr. Mary Rhoads.
A visitation for Robert will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas 77304 followed by a celebration of life at 10:00 AM. An interment will occur Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Garden Park Cemetery, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303-1606.
