Rodney was a truly charismatic and caring person and spent his lifetime encouraging others. His caring attitude was reflected in all aspects of his life. He cared for his family , friends, business associates, church, and the community as a whole. His family could always go to him for comfort and wise advice. As a father, he spent many hours coaching the sports that his sons were involved in such as soccer, baseball and basketball. Rodney was an award-winning broker and spent almost 50 years in the insurance business. Later in life, he owned his own company. He always went the extra mile to help his clients in any way he could. He was a faithful Christian all of his life and attended church regularly until he became ill. One of the things he enjoyed was planning the annual trip to Camp Blue Haven in New Mexico for the children at the church and assisting in transporting them to and from the camp. He enjoyed cooking, playing tennis, golf and had musical talent . He played the classical guitar, flute and digeridoo and led singing at Westbury Church of Christ in earlier times. He especially enjoyed performing at elementary schools by playing the Amercan Indian flute and digeridoo and interacting with the children. He really cherished being with his family, and one of his great delights was spending time with his two granddaughters. He had a light-hearted attitude toward life, ability to persevere through hardships and a genuine love for interacting with people.
