He worked in the restaurant business for years. He was the owner of a nightclub in the 1970’s in Pittsburg, Kansas, he worked at Beefmasters and Wilders Steakhouse and Managed Po Folks in Joplin, MO. He also worked at the Wooden Nickel restaurant in Branson, MO. He was most recently a meat cutter at Kroger’s grocery store, before his retirement in Conroe, Texas. He taught martial arts for years in Oklahoma and Missouri. He taught classes at the YMCA in Joplin, MO and Crowder College in Neosho, MO in the 1970’s. He was also on the local Carol Parker show in the 1970’s for a karate demonstration in Joplin, MO. In the 1980’s he taught classes at the Neosho recreational center. He loved collecting coins and was always reading books.
He was an avid animal lover. We will miss our weekly phone calls with Grandpa Ron.
Ron was proceeded in death by his infant son Aaron Kennedy. Ron’s Mother Edna Kennedy and his Father Harold Kennedy, Sr. He is survived by His Daughter Patricia Angelopoulos and son in law Tony Angelopoulos and Granddaughter Zoe Angelopoulos of Joplin, MO. His brother Harold Kennedy, Jr and Harold’s wife Angela. His nephews Wesley, Eric and Curtis Kennedy and their spouses and children.
The family asks that no flowers be sent. If you feel you want to give something you can always donate in Ron Kennedy’s name to your local animal shelter. There will be no funeral services at this time.
