Rose S. Coker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Friday July 15, 2016 just days after her 84th birthday. Rose was born on July 1, 1932 in Huntsville, Texas to Edgar and Hortense Sandel, as the oldest of two children. She graduated from Milby High School in 1950 and later married the man of her dreams, her "boy next door", Frank Coker that same year. They remained married for over 65 years and were separated by his passing on March 17, 2016. Together they raised their three children in Houston and Pasadena and then later in life retired to Willis, Texas where they became members and attended Fish Hatchery Church of Christ in Huntsville, Texas. Throughout her life Rose had a few different jobs but the one she cherished the most was her in home daycare where at times she would have up to fourteen little ones on her own. Rose is survived by her brother William Wade Sandel of Fredricksburg, her three children; Senia Lyn Dix of Willis, Frank Coker, Jr of Cold Springs, and Leslie L. Coker and wife Sonya of Daisetta, her five grandchildren, Joseph Dix, Cynthia Odefey and husband Corey, Denise Joiner and husband A.J., Christopher Coker and wife Rena, Tiffany Rigney and husband Josh, as well as nine great grandchildren. Rose was forever positive and greeted everyone with a smile. She was a selfless person who always put the needs of her family and others before her own. She was loved, cherished and respected immensely. She was the center of our family and provided us with love and guidance. We are thankful for the example of Christ's love that she set as a parent, a person and as a caregiver. The family extends special thanks to Rose's cousin, Eddy Sandel and his wife Patti of Huntsville, Texas, for all they have done for, Frank and Rose, as well as the members of Fish Hatchery Church of Christ and to all the friends and friends of the family for their thoughts, prayers and condolences. Visitation will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Brother Wayne Blake officiating. Burial will follow in East Sandy Creek Cemetery.
