

Roy Burden, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 81. He was a dedicated husband to Jutta for 60 years, creating a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable adventures that will always be remembered by those who knew him.
Roy was a proud father to his daughters, Diane Kinney and Carol Hearn, and he found immense joy in being a grandfather to Colby, Candace, Nolan, Meagan, and Chelsea, as well as his 12 adored great-grandchildren. Each of them brought special happiness to his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
A talented musician, Roy played in a band, spreading his love for music to friends and family alike. His adventurous spirit led him on numerous travels around the globe, where he embraced new cultures and experiences with open arms. Whether he was soaring through the skies in his airplane, casting a line while fishing, or enjoying the serenity of nature while hunting and boating, Roy found fulfillment in every adventure. One of his most treasured pastimes was gathering at the deer lease, where he created lasting memories filled with laughter and joy.
Roy's warmth, humor, and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His legacy of love, faith, and unforgettable moments will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents Roy E. and Reba Burden and his sister Veta Frenzel.
Roy is survived by his wife Jutta, two daughters, Diane Kinney and husband Kevin and Carol Hearn and fiancé Shaun McDaniel, two brothers, Jerry Wayne Burden and Danny Burden and his sister Deborah Stephens. Also left to treasure his memory are his grandchildren Colby, Candace, Nolan, Meagan, and Chelsea and 12 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life for Roy will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. Following the celebration of life will be a graveside service and interment at 3:00 PM at Calvert Cemetery, 503 Pin Oak St., Calvert, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Colby Hearn, Nolan Hearn, Donald Lewis, Michael Donovan and Lucas Marlow.
