There are really wonderful people who with their lives bear witness to the greatness of God. Sam received from the Lord the gift of the green thumb, in his hands the most delicate plants flourished and with his life full of warmth, sympathy and love he planted in the hearts of those who knew him, feelings of friendship, affection and generosity.

In our garden Sam will live forever.

Now in heaven is the best gardener.

RIP.

Sammy was like a second father to me sense I can remember. He never had a bad word to say about anyone he never judged anyone. His sense of styles could light up any room. Green thumb was one that couldn't be matched even by the best. His love for his family was one of undying devotion. You can meet a million people and not meet a soul as beautiful as Sammy's. So fly high one of the most beautiful ANGEL. This world was a better place cause of you. My prayers are with the Stedman and extended family. My heart is filled with sorrow I will miss you and I was blessed to have known such a great man. Heaven has become brighter. Love ya Sammy

HOW DO I LOVE THEE
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,

[Words by Margaret to Sammy]

I loved thee since I was a teen
I loved thee since I was your wife
I loved thee since I was the mother of your children
I will love thee until my death
I will love thee until I see your face again
I love thee with all my heart and soul and miss thee more then you know
I shall but love thee better after death.

I will always cherish the the friendship we shared while working together at Ronnies Truck Stop and still going strong 30+ years later! You were always kind to everyone! You have a gentle kindred spirit. Fly high Sammy, watch over all of us! You will be missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing you. See you on the other side!

Growing up, I never once can remember anything negative, always a sweet smile and kind words and that little giggle I could always bring out in my Uncle. The love between Aunt Margaret and Sammy was truly an example of what marriage should look like. It’s absolutely shocking when you lose someone without warning. Continued prayers for my Aunt and cousins, my heart goes out to all of you. Keep the memories close and know, we will all meet again at the GOLDEN gates of heaven.

Sammy,
As i sit here trying to find the words to express my shock at the passing of you so non predicting, I find myself crying at the loss of a friend a brother-in-law and a second father.
From the age of probably nine you have always been a constant in our lives forming memories that we can hold on to forever .
The way you would dance to Chubby Checker's the Twist to the flowers, gardening and landscaping skills you held, to the kind words you often spoke of for others.
Sammy you have touched so many in your lifetime from your family friends and clients making you that one person that all will always remember and I'm sure if the ice cream company's and Coca-Cola knew of you they would miss you as well. Ha ha,
I love you and will miss you always.

I’m truly sorry for your loss! One of the things that I admired about Samuel is he was straightforward and said what he meant. Samuel will be greatly missed . I’m always here for you day or night. I love you all.
