Scott James Rozwood, age 52, of Inkster, Michigan, born July 03, 1973, passed away on April 14, 2026. A man known for his warm heart and boundless energy, Scott lived a life dedicated to his family and his community.
A proud graduate of Holy Redeemer High School, Scott was a standout athlete on the football field, where he was named MVP. He carried that spirit of dedication into his professional life, serving as a Correctional Officer with the Michigan Department of Corrections for nearly 30 years.
To those who knew him, Scott was the ultimate "people person." He was famously talkative, a caregiver by nature, and a goofy, child-at-heart soul who always put the needs of others before himself. He was well-known for his "mad love" for bacon and chocolate, and he was happiest when surrounded by his favorite things: the "dad rock" of the 80s and 90s and University of Michigan football, hockey, and baseball. Whether he was cheering for the Wolverines or solving puzzles in escape rooms while traveling with his children, Scott’s greatest joy was simply being with the people he loved.
Scott is survived by his children, Joshua Rozwood and Lexi Bryant; his son-in-law, Aaron Bryant; his father, Jim Rozwood; his brother, Brian; and his sister-in-law, Jennifer. He was the proud uncle of Kiera, Kaden, and Kristopher. He is also survived by a large circle of friends and colleagues who will deeply miss his warmth and conversation. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Massey; his stepmother, Debbie Rozwood; and his mother-in-law, Dorthy Diaz.
A celebration of Scott's life will be held in Michigan at a later date. Details will be shared by the family once they are finalized.
