Cornelius “Casey” Eriks, 94, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026. Born January 23, 1932, in Highland, Indiana, to Gerrit and Cora Eriks, Casey lived a remarkable life centered on faith, family, hard work, generosity, and kindness.
Casey grew up with his parents and sisters, Nellie and Jeannie, later moving to Redding, California, where he graduated from Shasta High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, Love Company, during the Korean War.
A lifelong entrepreneur and builder, Casey and his first wife, Marilyn Birkland, raised their children, Doug and Karina.
In 1982, Casey married Susan Charlotte (Ely). Together, they continued a life of work and adventure. In 2005, they moved to Texas, where they purchased and operated a 100-space RV park. They retired in 2018 and moved to Conroe, Texas.
Casey is preceded in death by his father, Gerrit; mother, Cora Eriks; sisters Nellie Bouma and Jeannie Peralta; and nephew Rex Bouma. He is survived by his wife, Susan Eriks; son Doug Eriks; daughter Karina Mitchell; stepchildren Randy Pancake, Rene’ Harrison, and Linda Hould; and numerous cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Casey will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious laughter, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Casey leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, hard work, and compassion. He touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Casey. You were truly one of a kind and will always be loved and remembered
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas with the entombment following in Garden Park Cemetery.
