Shawn Allen Lyles

On Tuesday, November 26, 1974, at 3:15 PM, Shawn Allen Lyles was born to Sandy Patterson in Galveston, Texas. He was raised in League City, Texas. He attended Clear Creek High School and San Marcos Marine Academy.

Shawn enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1996 and served his country until December 2003. During his enlistment, while stationed in San Antonio, Texas, Shawn received his LVN license in 2000. While stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center on September 11, 2001, he assisted with the rescue and recovery efforts following the attack on the Pentagon.

Shawn married the love of his life, Kelli Harrington-Lyles, on December 20, 2010. He spent his remaining years in Conroe, Texas. Shawn and Kelli have been active members of Clear Creek Community Church since 2012.

Shawn is survived by his wife, Kelli; his children, Brandon, Morgan, Joseph, Lyndsey, Matthew, Micah, Kaitlin, and Jenna; his parents, Sandy and Rick Patterson; his brothers, James (Melissa) Lyles and Rickie Patterson Jr.; his sister, Tonya (Zach) Schnug; sister and brother-in-law Heather and Beau; his aunts and uncles, Cheri McCord, Debbie Rathbun, Doug, Michele, Chuck and Suzanne; his nieces and nephews, Shelby Lyles (Gio), Jamie Lyles, Megan, Colin, Emily, Josie and Hudson; his cousins, Shannon (Jennifer) McCord, Johnnie (Tori) McCord, Chaunte McCord, Jake and Emma; and his beloved grandbabies, Greyson, Lincoln, Rowan, Mylah, Sophie, Chandler, Harper, and Paisley. Numerous other relatives and a host of friends also survive, whom are greatly loved.

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Pat Rider and Eve Mack; his grandfather, Clay Rathbun; his brother, Randy Lyles; Auntie and Unkie Sneed; Gran-Gran; and his uncle, Spencer Rathbun.

A Graveside Service will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, on July 31, 2026, from 1:45 pm to 2:00 pm.
