Shawn Fredrick White passed away on December 4th, 2018 at Reading Hospital in Reading, PA at the age of 36. While he has lived in multiple locations while serving his country over the past 13 years as a Soldier in the United States Army, he always called Willis, Texas home.
Shawn was born March 10, 1982 in Elmira, NY. Ten years later, Shawn moved with his family to Willis, Texas and later graduated from Willis High School in 2000. In 2005, Shawn enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout and steadily progressed in his career until he most recently earned the rank of Sergeant First Class. Shawn served with distinction in three overseas deployments, two of which were combat tours, to include the Republic of Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan. While stationed at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas in 2013 he met his lovely bride Marla.
Shawn was a dedicated and accomplished Senior Enlisted Non-Commissioned Officer, husband, son, brother, and friend. He was passionate about life and developed a reputation for being straight and to the point. But most of all, Shawn was a man of integrity and honor. Perhaps most importantly, Shawn would not hesitate to offer support and guidance to those in need.
Shawn is survived by his wife Marla, mother Lisa Martin, brothers Bret Liberatore, Joseph Liberatore, and Rocky Liberatore, several nieces and nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends an hour prior at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX 77304.
