Sylvia Lee Sides

Sylvia Lee Sanders Sides of Montgomery, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 85. Sylvia worked as a Librarian for many years at the Mame George Library for Fort Bend County. After retiring she and Jerry moved, in 1999, to Montgomery, Texas, she enjoyed the outdoors, friends, and family, especially spending time with her kids, grand kids, and great grandkids and corresponding regularly with her sister, Pat Reid. Sylvia was a member of Conroe Baptist Church.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Sides, with whom she celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in June this year before his passing. Sylvia Sides is survived by her sister, Pat (Sanders) Reid, and her three sons: David Sides and wife Myrna Roy, Charles Sides and wife Deborah, James Sides and wife Heather; eight grandchildren: Sarah “Sadie” Sides, Jillian Sides, Rachel Sides, Ben Sides, Austin Sides and wife Rebecca. Jackie Williams, Joshua Sides, and Jacob Sides; two great grandchildren Amelia and Dominic Sides. She is also survived by her sister Pat (Sanders) Reid, nephew Doug Reid and wife Leslie, and niece, Donna Reid; and grandniece Kristin and husband Reuben Ramdeo, great grandnieces Alyssa Garcia, Isis Garcia, Tina Ordonez, Nevaeh Cepeda and great grandnephew Alex Reid. Sylvia is also survived by her brother-in-law Robert “Rex” Sides and wife Katherine, and sister-in-law Bonnie Sides with extended family of nieces and nephews. Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Sanders, mother, Charlie Sanders, and brother-in-law James Donald Reid and grandnephew James Stephen Reid; brothers-in-law Dale Sides and Alan Sides and wife Frankie Sides.

Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, on October 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, service at 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location with reception to follow at the same location.

A Committal Service will take place at Garden Park Cemetery, 801 Teas Rd, Conroe, TX 77303, on October 3, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
